United spending spree done and dusted?
Remember a few months ago, when Fergie said he’d sign three players? Yeah, well, Jones, Young & completing their transfers and De Gea set to sign in the next few days, that’s three players. I know you’re all going to say that he wasn’t planning on signing Jones, but he had to, but nevertheless. It completes the 3 players.
Generally, we’ve all been crying out for an attacking midfielder and a defensive midfielder but I can’t help that Fergie has already addressed this with the signings of Jones and Young? What if that’s it?
I mean, Jones is a solid defender, but he’s also capable of playing in defensive midfield. How Fergie will utilise him I can’t quite work out, and Young? Last season he was playing as an all out attacking midfielder, and he could play there for United. As I say, it just depends on how Sir Alex utilises him – as I honestly can’t see him getting the better of Valencia or Nani on the wing – arguably our best wingers, so he could of been bought to fill the gap in attacking midfield?
David Gill is set to go on holiday at the end of the week, and he’s stated several times that he wants all the signings wrapped ideally before he goes away for his break. Maybe we’re done? Maybe I’m just being pessimistic? Or maybe, it’s the calm before the storm at present?
Who knows – the only evidence suggesting we’re signing anybody is coming from ‘ITK’ reports on Twitter, and unconfirmed newspaper reports, with players like Varane and players like Nasri and also the fact that Gill has ‘apparently’ been spotted at Udinese, and we all know what that means…
Now. I’m not going to say who I want us to sign, as that always ends up in a riving debate, however, I’d be happy if we signed another midfielder before the window closes, (and it hasn’t even OPENED officially yet!) – so here’s to hoping, and that I’m completely wrong about our spending spree being done and dusted!
Who do YOU want us to sign and why?
